How it came to be

So, I should perhaps start with how the dream of an adventure turned into reality.

It was a rather bleak weekday last fall, as I recall. School had recently started, and seeing as I’m in my senior year, graduation had never seemed so distant. I am a natural day dreamer. Have been my whole life. A large amount of my family members happen to be travelers themselves, Dubai, Thailand, China, Spain, Italy, France, Turkey, etc etc. Their adventures had long fueled my dreams of places far away, and seeing as the summer had been cold and rainy, warm breezes on far away beaches where constantly on my mind.
One day, it hit me. Why not go on my own adventure? Travel to places warm, places loved. I was utterly taken back by the prospect, and kind of disappointed in myself for not having thought of it before. And so, I decided that I should go inter-railing through Europe next summer. However, I needed a companion. So, I did what every modern day teenager would do. I asked on Facebook.
As it where, I never actually believed that anyone would answer. These types of ideas of mine usually never go past production phase. Nevertheless, a couple of days later I got a message from a friend of mine, tentatively asking if I was still serious.

Oh how I was.

Since then, I’ve seen how my dream has slowly come to fruition. Though we didn’t really start getting stuff done until this past half year. The first thing we did was decide the approximate itinerary for our trip. But, I’ll write all about that in my next post.
